Prophecy given to Jacob, later named
Israel
-
Genesis 28:14 And thy seed shall
be as the dust of the earth, and thou shalt spread abroad to the
west, and to the east, and to the north, and to the south: and
in thee and in thy seed shall all the families of the earth be
blessed.
The promise of the seed of the coming
Messiah was given to Abraham, Isaac and then Jacob (Israel). The
lineage is narrowing down to show forth God's eternal plan to save
mankind since the fall.
-
Numbers 24:17 I shall see him,
but not now: I shall behold him, but not nigh: there shall come
a Star out of Jacob, and a Scepter shall rise out of Israel, and
shall smite the corners of Moab, and destroy all the children of
Seth.
Here we do observe a prophecy of a
coming Messiah who shall deliver God's people from their enemies. We
see a warrior here different to the one we describe as Jesus who
came to deliver from sins.
So we now ask, is Jesus the Messiah? Is
Jesus the one who fulfills this prophecy? We know that Jesus came
from the lineage of Jacob but when he came he did not deliver Israel
from any enemies. In fact Israel as a country came to an end a few
years after Jesus died on the cross.
This is where Israel has stumbled and
failed to recognize their own Messiah. Jesus came first as I shall
prove in later prophecies, to die for our sins. The sin question and
reconciliation back in a right relationship with God had to come
first before any victory over enemies in the natural.
Before Jesus Christ can help Israel or
any other oppressed nation, they must first recognize Him as their
Messiah. Israel has not done that yet as a nation. There may be
individual Messianic Jews who have received Jesus as the savior and
recognized Him as the
Messiah but the nation itself has not.
In these studies I shall bring out the
fact that Israel will one day recognize the savior their ancestors
rejected. In that day Israel will be delivered and saved from all
enemies that reject them as a nation and that reject Jesus Christ as
the Son of God. God alone will deliver Israel from total
destruction.
I may be wrong but I do not believe
that even the United States will help in the final hour that Israel
is surrounded by enemies and threatened with total annihilation
before God sends His Son Jesus Christ back to save them.
Something
will happen either to turn the United States against Israel or else
the United States becomes no longer a super power to be able to save
Israel. God will be the one to save them. It could be that God will
use the United States but I really can't see that in bible prophecy
unless it is hidden from my understanding at this time. I've said
many times that the closer we get to this event taking place, the
more those that seek the Lord for understanding will in deed begin
to understand. We receive what we believe Him for if it is in His
will. If it wasn't His will for us to understand, He would not have
had faithful scribes write down any bible prophecy for us to read.
As a citizen of the United States, I
truly hope that we as a nation do not become part of the enemies of
Israel because surely the judgment of God will fall upon us if that
is the case. How do I know that? Purely from studying bible
prophecy. When I read about Israel in the Old Testament I do not as
some have done, replace Israel with the church. To me Israel is
Israel and the church is the church and one does not replace the
other. Even though God judged Israel for sins time and time again,
He also judged any nation that oppressed or came against Israel.
However, He did that when Israel repented and turned back to God.
Israel rejected Jesus Christ and is now
apart from fellowship with God but that will change. God still has
plans to redeem Israel through Jesus Christ and get them back to
Himself just as the plan of salvation which is repenting of sin and
receiving Jesus Christ gets each individual (Jew, Gentile etc.) back
to God now.
This is another prophecy of the Messiah
coming through the seed of Jacob. Every word of God is true and will
come to pass. No matter how things look to the contrary, it will
come to pass.
